💜Purple Up Pledge💜

Celebrating Military-Connected Children

Military-connected children are resilient, adaptable, and strong. At Kids Rank, we recognize their sacrifices and celebrate their contributions, not just during April, but all year round. Purple is the color of the military child. It represents the blend of all the branches’ colors: the Air Force, Navy, Space Force, and Coast Guard's blues, the Army's green, and the Marines' red. By wearing purple during April, we honor these children who belong to all branches. We want them to know they are seen and supported because their lives are not easy.

Take the Purple Up Pledge today and stand with military children in your community!

Become a Month of the Military Child Donor

Kids Rank is seeking your support for our Month of the Military Child (MoMC) celebration, designed to celebrate and bring awareness to the often overlooked and underserved military children in local neighborhoods.

Military-connected children face unique challenges frequent moves, separations from parents, and the stresses of military life which can impact their social and emotional growth. Kids Rank, a 501(c)(3) service-based organization, was established to provide stability and support through programs that nurture connection, leadership, and community service.

During April, federally designated as the Month of the Military Child, Kids Rank hosts events to celebrate military children while highlighting the programming and curriculum we provide. These events are inclusive, low-to-no-cost, and designed to reach all military families, giving children opportunities to connect, lead, and serve in their communities.

💜 Why Your Donation Matters

  • Over 80% of military children attend civilian schools, where their needs can often go unnoticed.
  • Kids Rank partners with schools in North Shore and North Chicago areas, providing programming that supports military-connected students.
  • Our MoMC events have grown over the past five years, now serving 300+ children, families, and guests each April.
  • Donations directly support operational costs for MoMC programming, events, staff training, program expansion, and community outreach.
Your support ensures we continue to empower military children, expanding opportunities locally and nationwide.

Footnote / Info:
Secretary of Defense Caspar W. Weinberger designated each April as "The Month of the Military Child" in 1986 to recognize the contributions of U.S. military children. These children face frequent moves, separations, and unique challenges as their parents serve our country and Kids Rank is proud to support them every step of the way.
